Paradise in Alaska

The absolute best 6 day fishing trip value in Alaska by far.

The entire preserve has only two fishing lodges, the Schumacher’s custom made paradise Northern Lights Haven Lodge, has been operating since 1970.  Over the years, 1,000’s of anglers have become part of the family in this intimate setting that beds up to 10 guests.

The close proximity to the East Alsek River and access to some of the most beautiful sites on the planet including views of Alaska Grizzlies, Eagles, Moose, many species of water fowl and much more gives this lodge a unique appeal.

Testimonials

“My first year at the lodge was in 2014, and I’ve been returning ever since. Northern Lights is truly a hidden gem of Alaska. The food is outstanding, and the guides are talented and personable, and the fishing is exceptional. On top of that, the views of Mount Fairweather and the surrounding glaciers are absolutely breathtaking.

The team goes out of their way to make everyone feel welcome, and their attention to detail ensures a great experience for all. I will continue to spend time at the lodge for as long as I am able.”

“I’ve been going to North Lights Haven Lodge in Yakutat, Alaska at least 7 times over the last 26 years and have brought many friends with me. Silver salmon are my favorite ones to catch, but I did catch all five salmon species in one week several years ago — a record at Vern’s lodge that I believe still stands!

His guides have always been top notch and make sure you catch your limit. The meals are unbelievable and you always go home with a few extra pounds!

I love seeing eagles, bears, and moose every time I’ve been there. You can’t beat the value for what you get here anywhere in Alaska.
